Adventure Baby

Meghan, our adventure baby, has had a long weekend of adventures; climbing stairs at Trish and Ravi's house during Myra's 1st birthday party; helping Dad tidy the yard; playing with Sasha at Philippe and Asel's house; making friends over dinner at Thai Zenna in Plano; and taking first steps in Toys'r'us in Plano.

Teddy Bear or Dog?

Meghan was full of beans last night and just wouldn't settle down with a book or even slow down long enough to look tired. Instead she was playing with her favourite teddy bear, Sheba, who is very good natured and understanding of a small person's urges to tug on her ears.

Starting Exercises and Blowing Kisses

Meghan found the exercise ball tonight and started pushing it and banging on it, enjoying the noise that it makes. This tired her out so she went down for the night earlier than usual. Or so we thought. She spent a little while talking to her mum and then started blowing kisses to Dad.. we thought we were imagining things so we waited and she did a couple more times. Hand to mouth and then out into a wave.

Pilot Episode

Back in January, Aey gave me two great birthday presents; Meghan and an introductory flight at a local flight school. The first has kept us both busy through the year but I finally got around to trying the other when I went to American Flyers yesterday to fly around for an hour in a Cessna 172 (edit: it was windy and 2 seconds after the instructor said "it's yours", it went sideways and down). Today I went back for two hours in the simulator.

About the only thing missing from the simulator was the hydraulics - two screens for the pilot (the world view and the instruments), all the buttons and radio equipment of the Cessna, rudder pedals, yoke with feedback and a control station for the instructor to set the weather and other simulator conditions. Very good and lots of fun.

Meghan Stands

Here's a video from a few weeks ago where Meghan is pulling apart a Lego creation and forgets to hold on to anything.

She has bursts of enthusiasm for standing and cruising and then goes back to crawling and clinging. Sometimes she likes to climb stairs but prefers us to be with her (as do we).

Six Teeth

Meghan's sixth tooth popped through today. She has been waiting for her teeth for months and then 6 of them came through in the last 4-6 weeks. She's been drooling for days and not sleeping well so we are glad that it's through; maybe now she can sleep!

Thanksgiving in Houston

We took a trip to Houston for the Thanksgiving break to see Chandra, David, Anisa and Ari. We had a great time and drove back on Saturday night in the rain. Meghan got to play with all sorts of new toys and we played with Anisa and Ari, who is a big boy!

Playing with the Walker

We were in Thailand for a couple of weeks and it has been hard to shake the jetlag with the little one waking us up. When we catch up on sleep some more, we will post some pictures and video.

In the mean time, here is a short video of Meghan getting used to her new walker and another video of her after she decides the box is more fun.

Party last weekend!

Wow, it's Wednesday already! We had a quiet party on Sunday afternoon, more of a get-together, nothing rowdy. Asel and Philippe and Sasha came to visit, as well as Roger and Rachel. We grilled some sausage and chicken wings, let the babies do their thing and just spent some time with friends. I don't think we took any pictures but Asel did and put them up on the Morel family blog..

Meghan cruising

Meghan and Mangos

Meghan woke up one night this week with a sore tummy after finding that mango (in Gerber baby food) does not agree with her, her teeth are not out yet but bothering her and the current ear infection has not cleared up yet so she has not had the best week.. so she is going from happy to cranky more quickly.

Motorised Lego AT-AT Walker

Lego have now come out with an AT-AT walker, another addition to their Star Wars toys. Except this one walks..

Meghan is feeling better

Meghan had to leave daycare earlier than normal on Friday as she had a tempature over 100F but after a weekend of medication and TLC, she is feeling better and back at daycare, playing with her little friends.

She is also working on her new teeth which are just about to cut through her lower gum so she has a lot going on at the moment.

Party!

Meghan took Mum and Dad to Gabe's birthday party at the weekend.. here's a picture of us standing next to Gabe's boat. We had fun and Meghan danced with some nice people.

Sippy Cup

It's been a couple of weeks since we posted anything so Meghan suggested we put up this picture of her in charge of her sippy cup (at least for a few seconds). Some days this works better than others.

After taking Sheba for a stroll in the woods with Sasha, Harry, Taylor, Bruno, Pete and Ginger, we went to Voila, the french bakery in Allen and took some pictures with Neil.

The first one is Meghan and I trying out the baby carrier at the park.

We had a bit of a fright later when we tried to start the car and got nothing. We had to call roadside assistance to come and change the battery. Neil was a lifesaver and came back to drive Meghan, Aey and Sheba home. Thanks Neil!

First Day at Daycare

Meghan started at daycare today.. we dropped her off with Caitlin and her new friends. We hope she is going to have a great day and not miss is too much!

We have signed up for the webcam and hope to be able to watch her from our desks during the day.

Meghan goes to school!

Meghan is starting school on Monday.. daycare, really, but it will the first time that she has been away from friends and family the whole day. Caitlin is the lead teacher in her room and we met her today at the open day.

She has just started hauling herself upright using the available furniture and can stay upright for minutes at a time without looking wobbly.

Friends

Myra has been hanging out with me and my grandma B for few months. We are going to miss Grandma when she goes back to Thailand.

Carousel Ride!

It was a rainy day and a carousel ride made the whole day better. It was good idea of my grandmother. Dad stood at the side and took some lovely pictures and posted them on a Tabblo page.

The 21st Century is sooo complicated

My daddy set up a blog for me tonight but I can't type and he can't write so the first post is dull. Like this..
